Since the invention of the world’s first self-illuminating wristwatch in 1989, the traser brand has stood for pioneering spirit and highly functional watch technology. Now, traser once again pushes boundaries – presenting not just one, but two groundbreaking innovations in the special P99 Iris Limited Edition, restricted to 300 pieces. The combination of the new generation Super Powered trigalight and a flexibly closable iris diaphragm ensures optimal readability with absolute control. Both Swiss technologies are patented and the result of years of development.
Permanent light sources allow for ideal time display even in complete darkness. While the "Always-on" technology offers high reliability, it has not been possible to switch it on or off flexibly at the push of a button – until now. After extensive development, traser introduces an entirely new solution in the watch industry: a closable iris diaphragm that can completely darken the dial in an instant. This innovation is combined with another first in the P99 Iris Limited Edition – the debut of even brighter next-gen trigalights. Thus, traser unites two seemingly opposing elements into one high-performance package: unrestricted visibility with the option for complete concealment.
With just a quarter turn of the ergonomically grooved bezel counterclockwise, the 16-blade iris diaphragm closes. Opening it is just as intuitive – a clockwise turn retracts the blades beneath the case rim, granting an uninterrupted view of the high-contrast dial. The mechanism is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and has been thoroughly tested for durability. Thanks to a lubrication-free design, the P99 Iris Limited Edition is maintenance-free and ensures consistently precise operation.
Equally precise is the readability of time: like all traser watches, the P99 Iris features the brand’s proprietary self-powered trigalight technology, which continuously illuminates hands and indices – without the need for any external energy source. This special edition is the first to feature Super Powered trigalight, and due to a special coating, the capillaries provide increased luminosity, making the dial indices shine with unprecedented clarity.
Though access is limited to 300 pieces, the functionality of the P99 Iris knows no limits: the iris diaphragm, dial, and PVD-coated stainless-steel case are all purposefully finished in matte black to prevent light reflections. The case is water-resistant up to 10 bar, features a screw-down crown, and a screw-in back engraved with the limited edition number, which protects both the iris mechanism and the Swiss quartz movement inside.
The watch is secured with either a rubber or textile strap, available in full black or with a gray camouflage pattern, for safe and comfortable wear on the wrist.
Constant visibility or total concealment – the choice is now in the hands of the wearer.
