New Zeppelin Friedrichshafen watch collection

New Zeppelin Friedrichshafen watch collection

Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and his legacy

German aviation pioneer Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, known for his giant airships, designed the world's first steerable fixed-wing airship, known as the LZ1, in 1900. In 1909, he founded Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH in Friedrichshafen, which became the first civil aviation company not only in Europe but also in the world. Count von Zeppelin, sometimes nicknamed the "Mad Count of Lake Constance", ushered in a whole new era in aviation. His airships soared almost silently over the landscape, providing passengers with stunning views and a luxurious travel experience. Offering spacious and luxuriously appointed rooms such as dining rooms, reading rooms, lounges and bedrooms, airships represented the height of elegance and comfort of their time.

Today, ZEPPELIN watches continue this tradition and combine luxury with a vision of the future. The design of the watches is inspired by the beauty of the modern-retro style that appeals to today's generation.

Friedrichshafen - Home of a legend

Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is the town where Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin built his famous airships. Today, there is a magnificent museum that commemorates this glorious history. The name Friedrichshafen is therefore unique for the new ZEPPELIN watch series and is reserved for a very special collection of watches.

This collection brings a careful combination of guilloche patterns to the watch faces, creating a harmony of colours and shapes never before seen at ZEPPELIN. In keeping with this opulence, the watches are fitted with straps made of crocodile-embossed leather that underline the noble character of the entire range. The Friedrichshafen collection offers watches for every taste and price range, but always with an unmistakable luxurious look.

Advanced technology

The Friedrichshafen range includes a wide range of movements. The Premium collection uses the Swiss Sellita calibres SW200 and SW266.1 (Regulator). The middle and lower price ranges are covered by modern automatic movements from CITIZEN - MIYOTA, including the new Miyota 9075 automatic movement, which features a true GMT function with the ability to step the main hour hand, a complication previously only available on luxury watches. In addition, quartz movements are available for entry-level models, which include chronographs and moonphase function watches.

Another interesting technology is the guilloche on the dials of Friedrichshafen watches. Traditionally, designs are carved into the metal by hand, a time-consuming and expensive process. However, ZEPPELIN has been able to achieve similarly spectacular results using alternative production methods, which has made it possible to offer these watches at attractive prices.

Friedrichshafen model series

The Friedrichshafen collection includes watches for every taste and budget. At the top of the price pyramid is the Automatic Regulator model (Sellita SW266.1), which is an ideal choice for connoisseurs of unusual watches. The Automatic model (Sellita SW200) is equipped with a proven Swiss movement and features an impressive guilloche pattern, making it a leader in the mid-price segment.

This category also includes watches with various complications, equipped with Miyota automatic movements, which offer reliability and are increasingly approaching the standard of Swiss watches. For example, the Automatic GMT model (Miyota 9075) offers a true GMT function with the possibility of stepped adjustment of the main hour hand.

Other interesting models are the Automatic Power Reserve (Miyota 9134) with power reserve indication and Ladie's Automatic OpenHeart Ladies' Watch (Miyota 90S5) with its elegant, flat movement. The basic price range is covered by attractive Miyota watch variants such as the Automatic DayDate (Miyota 8285) and Automatic OpenHeart (Miyota 82S5).

The Friedrichshafen collection is complemented by quartz models that offer interesting complications, such as the BigDate chronograph (Ronda 5020.D) and the moonphase watch, which is available in both women's and men's sizes (Ronda 706.1).
