LZ 127 ZEPPELIN were the most important and most successful kind of Zeppelin airship. They were real mileage that had never been achieved again. Between 1900 and 1938 Zeppelin GmbH created more than 100 airships in 27 different variants. The largest was in 1938 LZ 129 with a length of 245 meters, with dimensions of 41.2 meters and a volume of 200 000 m3. Four Daimler diesel engines with a capacity of 4,200 hp displaced the airship with the highest speed of 131 km/h and up to 12,000 km to Japan, North and South America. They served as passengers, mail, and cargo.
