Space Control

On August 26, 1978, Sigmund Jähn became the first German in space aboard the Soyuz-31 spacecraft. Including his stay on the space station, Jähn remained in space for seven days and orbited the Earth 124 times. On his wrist he wore a Ruhl watch made especially for the mission. Now the iconic design of this watch has been reinterpreted and is equipped with modern technology ready for new adventures.

On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the founding of Uhrenwerke Ruhla in the Thuringian watchmaking town of the same name, the Ruhla watch brand is now being relaunched - produced by Uhrenwerke Ruhla GmbH, the successor company of the once huge industrial complex, which is housed in the last remaining building. The listed Bauhaus architecture houses not only the watch assembly plant but also the Ruhla Watch Museum, which brings the 160-year history of the complex to life.
