Watches Luminox XL.1003.ICE

The Luminox XL.1003.ICE is designed and made to go where few would think to take a quality watch. The Icelandic Search and Rescue Association (ICE-SAR) goes to these very places in the course of its missions. ICE-SAR is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and has appointed Luminox as its official partner.

To celebrate and commemorate this partnership, Luminox has created a special ICE-SAR Arctic 1000 series consisting of five models, one of which is a special limited edition.

All models in the ICE-SAR Arctic 1000 series use a 46mm Carbonox™ housing. Exclusive to Luminox, Carbonox™ is an extremely strong and durable carbon-based material. It is much lighter than steel, hypoallergenic and extremely durable. All of these watches have a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, are powered by Ronda's Swiss Made quartz movement and are all water resistant to 200 meters . Features include a date display with a seconds hand. In addition, all watches are equipped with Luminox Lighting Technology (LLT), which, through the use of tritium tubes, provides the ICE-SAR team with perfect night vision 24 hours a day for up to 25 years. The ICE-SAR logo with its four circular cut-out elements inspired the shape of the collection's bezels, and the hands are shaped to resemble the carabiners that rescue workers use on every mission. The hard-sanded dial is reminiscent of the lava fields that cover 30% of Iceland, and on the blue and black and red models the number 12 is replaced by 112 , the emergency number in many countries in Europe and the USA. The ICE-SAR Arctic 1000 series consists of four dial versions: black dial, black dial with red accents, blue dial and white dial.
