New collection of watches Luminox XB.3743.ECO Survival Master series.
Luminox strives to excel in sustainability and the latest watch collection in collaboration with Bear Grylls is a perfect example of its efforts. The Survival Master series uses #tide recycled plastic from water bottles recovered from the ocean to make the case, bezel and straps, creating a new manufacturing process that is available in three dial and strap colours: yellow, green and blue. Each of the three models will have a green case and bezel made of sustainable material with the Bear Grylls logo prominently placed at the 4 o'clock position. The back of the watch case features the Luminox, Bear Grylls and #TIDE logos to commemorate this collaboration.
The parent company, Lumondi , has taken great strides to become the Swiss watch industry leader in its sustainability efforts and to achieve and maintain CO2 neutrality by 2020. The company is not about to rest on its laurels and through this collaboration continues its efforts to design more sustainable products. With the new Master Series, Luminox is meeting the challenge in both the watch and the packaging, so there is no longer a need to choose between functionality, durability and sustainability - this watch meets all three requirements.
Bear Grylls, who is both a lover of survival and the environment, is a symbol of the pursuit of sustainability and together with Luminox they present their latest collaboration - the Master Series #tide chronograph.
Bear Grylls said: "Earth Day has a special meaning to me because I spend a lot of time in the wilderness on my many adventures. This new watch from Luminox is great for both timekeeping and helping the environment by using recycled #Tide materials. "
The #TIDE ocean materials are made from 100% ocean-bound plastic developed in collaboration with Swiss scientists. On five islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Thailand, local fishermen are trained and paid to collect and sort plastic waste.
The #tide material consists of 100% ocean plastic and was developed in collaboration with Swiss scientists. On five islands in the Andaman Sea off the Thai coast, local fishermen are trained and paid to collect and sort plastic waste from the ocean. The #tide material is first made from this plastic waste, which is then first processed, cleaned and finally crushed using a sophisticated and sustainable process so that the plastic can be re-injected into the required shape. By using this material in the manufacture of watches, Luminox is giving this material a new purpose, reducing its impact on the environment and helping to clean the ocean. It also enables local people to learn new skills and earn a regular income.
