Featuring a 42mm steel case, the P-38 boasts all the attributes of a classic pilot's watch, including an easy-to-read and easy-to-see dial in black with white Arabic numerals or white with black numerals. As a tribute to the traditional B-Uhr navigation watches of the 1940s, there is an upward-facing triangle with two dots just below 12 o'clock, providing quick orientation and the ability to read the time at a glance. The watch with GMT function in the inner ring of the dial is powered by a Swiss-made battery-powered movement. Like all other Luminox watches, it incorporates Luminox Light Technology, which ensures that the watch will be visible in any light conditions for up to 25 years. The watch is available in three dial options and with a choice of a mesh bracelet or strap.

The tubes are illuminated for 25 years, with visibility depending on individual eyesight, the colour of the tube and the condition of the watch glass.
